The Art of Burning

Your guide to lasting magic.

A little attention goes a long way. Our natural waxes and wooden wicks reward proper care with cleaner burns, stronger scent, and longer life.

1. The First Burn Matters Most

Let the wax melt all the way to the edges of the vessel (usually max 1.5 hour). This prevents tunnelling and ensures even wax consumption from start to finish.

2. Trim Your Wick

A wick that's too long causes smoking, oversized flames, faster burning, and weaker scent on subsequent uses.

Cotton Wick

Trim or pinch off the charred tip to about 5 mm before each lighting.

Wooden Wick

Snap or trim the burnt wood to 3–4 mm above the wax surface.

3. Burning Time

Keep each session to 4 hours maximum. Beyond that, natural fragrance oils may begin to lose their potency.

4. Extinguishing

Don't blow it out. That creates smoke. Use a candle snuffer or the wooden lid (make sure the flame hasn't caught it first). Cutting off the oxygen means a smoke-free finish and your room stays filled with fragrance, not fumes.

5. Wooden Wick Tips

Be patient when lighting. Wood needs a moment to draw up the wax. Hold the flame a little longer than you would with cotton.

If the flame is too small, the wick may be too short or flooded with wax. Pour off a small amount of liquid wax or dab it away, and the flame will recover.

The crackling is a feature, not a flaw. That gentle pop and snap is your own private fireplace.

How to Use Your Refill

Our refill system lets you enjoy a new scent in the same beautiful vessel. Here is everything you need to know.

Important

Our refills are designed exclusively for Soul Whisper vessels. Their shape and size will not fit other containers. Do not open a refill until your vessel is ready to use. External temperature and conditions can affect the wax shape, making it difficult to insert into the vessel.

1

Prepare Your Vessel

If your candle burned correctly, the wax should have melted down to the very last drop. Simply peel the wick base (the metal tab) from the bottom of the vessel, and you are ready for the next step.

2

If Wax Remains

Should any wax remain on the bottom or sides of the vessel, gently scrape it out or melt it with warm water and remove the excess. Then peel off the wick base from the bottom.

3

Insert the Refill

Carefully unwrap the refill. Peel the yellow adhesive sticker from its base. Place the refill into the vessel and press gently so the sticker bonds to the bottom. Your new candle is ready to light.

Your Safety

  • Never leave a burning candle unattended.

  • Place on a stable, heat-resistant surface (the wooden lid works perfectly as a coaster).

  • Keep away from draughts, children, and pets.

  • When about 1 cm of wax remains, let it burn to the end. This makes it easy to remove the wick base and insert your next refill.
